初级原版英语文章怎样读2：Brush your teeth(2)

英语阅读能提高英语水平(含口语)吗？

不一定。读“什么”(What to read)不重要，“怎么”读(How to read)才重要。

1) 读(What)：

下面的英语“似乎”很简单(用词简单，语法结构简单)，似乎不用“翻译”就能懂。不过，“翻译”不是指“翻译”成中文，“翻译”是指“翻译”成英文。这样的“翻译”就不一定还“简单”了。

下文阅读时，不是用来给你“翻译”成中文的，是用来给你“翻译”成英文的。试试(续)：

She walked into the bathroom. She took the cap off the tube of toothpaste. She squeezed some toothpaste onto her toothbrush. She turned on the cold water.

She brushed her upper teeth and spit out some toothpaste. She brushed her lower teeth and spit out some more toothpaste. She rinsed out her toothbrush. She put the toothbrush back into the toothbrush holder. She put some water into a cup and rinsed out her mouth. She spit out the water and walked out of the bathroom.

2) 怎么读(How)？

把英语“翻译”成英语(把你学过的英语“用”起来吧)：

1. She brushed her upper teeth and spit out some toothpaste.

When we brush our teeth,we clean our teeth with a brush,a toothbrush.To brush means to clean.

We have two rows of teeth,the upper teeth,and the lower teeth.

When we spit out something out of our mouth,like our mouth water,or saliva,like some food,or anything,we throw out something from our mouth.To spit is to throw out spit ,or saliva,or mouth water from the mouth

我们不需要任何中文翻译的“介入”，不需要中文“翻译”，只需要英语“翻译”，to spit你“读懂”了没？

下面的“翻译”阅读“同理”。

2.She brushed her lower teeth and spit out some more toothpaste.

We spit out toothpaste,we spit out saliva,we spit out food,we spit out anything from our mouth.

3.She rinsed out her toothbrush.

Usually we say：wash our mouth,wash our clothes,wash our hands,right?

Now we say：rinse our mouth(wash and clean) with water,rinse our clothes,rinse our hands.To rinse is to wash.

4.She put the toothbrush back into the toothbrush holder.

She placed the toothbrush back

We have the toothbrush holder.We have the dish holder.We have the pen holder.

The holder is something,a container,that is for holding something else.

5. She put some water into a cup.

She got some water,she poured some water into a cup

A cup for holding water has a handle on its side.A glass for holding has no handle on its side.

6.She rinsed out her mouth. She spit out the water and walked out of the bathroom.

She cleaned her mouth with water and she threw out the water from her mouth.

She walked out of the room,she left the room,she exited the room.

英语阅读，就是给你做这种把英语“翻译”成英语训练用的。

英语阅读时，你不是做/不能做到这种“读的是英语，说的(翻译的)还是英语”，那么，你的所谓“英语阅读”(更别说“原版英语”“原著英语”阅读了)是不能“提高”你的英语水平的。你的“英语阅读”要练的就是这个能力。有了这样的“阅读能力”，什么样的“英语口语”问题通通解决了。
