外国人游中国热潮：前7个月超1700万人次

China Travel has become popular on the internet. In the first seven months of this year, there were 1725.4 million foreigners who entered China through various ports, an increase of 129.9% compared to the same period last year. An increasing number of foreigners have joined the army of Chinese tourists.
According to the latest statistics from the National Immigration Administration, in the first seven months, there were 341 million entries and exits at ports across the country, an increase of 62.34% compared to the same period last year. A total of 846,000 visas were issued at ports, up 182.9% from the same period last year. The estimated consumption of foreign tourists visiting China is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan.
This summer, a large number of foreign bloggers independently filmed and released their observations and experiences of traveling in China, with views on foreign websites breaking through 1 billion, sparking a wave of "Chinese style".
"The further release of policy dividends has become the 'traffic password' for foreign tourists to visit China anytime," said Liu Haitao, deputy director of the National Immigration Administration.
More than 110 measures to facilitate foreign personnel coming to China have been continuously optimized, including entry visa exemptions, transit visa exemptions, and port visa policies... More foreigners are coming to China to personally experience the beauty of the new era in China.
"Convenient arrival". The 144-hour transit visa exemption policy has been extended to 37 ports and 54 countries. Since its implementation in January 2013, the applicable countries, ports of entry, duration of stay, and activity areas for the transit visa exemption policy have been continuously optimized.
"Diverse arrival". China has successively introduced policies such as 144-hour visa-free entry for foreign tourist groups from Hong Kong and Macao into Guangdong, 144-hour visa-free entry for ASEAN national tourist groups into Guilin, Guangxi, 30-day visa-free entry for 59 nationals into Hainan, and 15-day visa-free entry for foreign tourist groups from coastal provinces on cruise ships. Recently, a policy was introduced that allows foreign tourist groups from Hong Kong and Macao to enter Hainan for 144 hours without a visa, benefiting more than 5.9 million foreign tourists.
"Bring in". The conditions for applying for port visas have been further relaxed, providing foreign business investors with multiple convenient services such as re-entry visas, ensuring that foreign business personnel can come and stay as they wish.
The most significant effect of more and more foreigners "visiting China" is to boost the inbound tourism market in China. According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2023, foreign tourists in China spend an average of 3,459 yuan per day, and it is estimated that their direct consumption in the first seven months of this year will exceed 100 billion yuan.
Next, the National Immigration Administration will continue to optimize and improve policies such as transit visa exemptions, expand activity areas, increase interconnected regions, and optimize open layouts. It will work with relevant departments to enhance the convenience of foreigners coming to China and staying in China.
