英语近义词(12):due to,because of等

在我们日常的阅读和影视作品中，经常会看到due to、because of、owing to这些表示由于或者因为的短语，那么它们在使用上有什么区别呢？

due to

due to引导的短语在句子中可做补语、状语也可作定语：

Your failure is due to negligence.

The force due to gravitation causes objects to have weight.

There are many complications due to such factors as land and sea distributions.

because of

because of所构成的介词短语在句中通常做状语：

He didn't go out because of the rain.

owing to

owing to构成介词短语在句子中通常做状语，但也可作补语，这时与due to通用：

They decided to postpone the trip, owing to bad weather.

在作状语时，习惯上用逗号与句子或其他成分分开。

这三种表达方法在句子成分上有所不同，大家在学习过程当中，一定要注意暗含着因果关系，但没有“因为”等字样的句子，在用英语表达时，不妨考虑以上三种表达方式。
